Actually I have heard of open source search server; I have to admit I've not played with it much, but it looks like a nice clean implementation. the concept looks very cool. I especially like the SAAS that you provide!

Thanks for mentioning Xapian and Flax, but just to clarify, both of these are GPL-licensed and entirely open source.
